What is WHERE R THEY NOW? This is a program where we invite Dooley Dual Alumni back to read a short story in Japanese and bring us up to date with what the special guest has been doing since leaving Dooley. There is also a Q & A where students and staff can ask questions!

About The Guest

Meet Edie (Evangeline) Silker from 2nd Grade at Thomas Dooley Elementary! Dooley is where Edie learned cross-communication, which is essential for networking and collaborating as a professional musician. She enjoyed Culture Night activities and cherished the opportunity to learn Japanese in school.

Edie graduated from Dooley in 2019. She is a first-year undergraduate student majoring in Viola Performance at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Edie uses Japanese in college every day to converse with friends, read books, and watch TV/movies.
